Supporting Ger ODV

I first learned about the charity Ger ODV in Medellin, Colombia when I decided to attend a Fame Reunion Concert in Italy in 2017. And I ended up organizing a fundraiser before the actual concert since my children are half Colombians.

The charity organization is run by Stefano and Barbara Mendogni from Parma and is making a difference in a community, in which children and teenagers are exposed to gangs, drug dealers and prostitution.

Ger ODV picks up over 40 children from their families in the mornings and takes them to school. After school the children spend the afternoons at Ger ODV, where the team provides them with meals, homework and school activities, assists them with medical check ups and offers recreational activities and group games.

This charity does not just help the children to complete their school education and have better opportunities in life, but also provides a second loving home to them.
